Adding a contemporary extension to a heritage listed 1890s era shop house on an irregular block in Albert Park. The tight site constraints and 130 year old original structure dictated much of the form and height of the addition which is highly recessive from the street and engages with the original form in terms of scale, datum and proportion.
The materials palette is minimal with a strong emphasis on honestly and the adoption of raw natural materials such as concrete, natural stone and timber used and exposed throughout.
